+1 for the option, bumping this trying to keep the hope alive!
Please get rid of the scanner popping up in every system. Its getting old, especially for those of us who don't care about exploration. |

Nyancat Audeles wrote:Personally, I think the new animation is great! (a bit buggy though)
If you don't like it, just close your eyes while its playing, problem solved...
A few people said this earlier in the thread, so you must be trolling...
Still hoping for a fix!
EDIT - Why not give us an option for a generic fade-to-black transition? |

Yeah, we definitely need an update on this... All we want is an option to switch to a simple, fade-to-black transition. |

Multiboxer with 12 accounts - Check.
Running all 12 on the same PC - Doubtful, but I'll play along.
Jumped gates - Good for you, unfortunately, you missed the ENTIRE point of the thread
If only that badass PC you have could read and comprehend for you... |

New patch today, 9th in the series since Odyssey, still no option to disable or switch to a fade-to-black transition.
Not a difficult or unreasonable request, and definitely worthy of an update from a CCP employee, if we can get one? |

I bet you're right. That's cool though. Patience, I'm told, is a virtue.
Yes, it is a virtue. Patience was what I had when the Incarna "Greed is Good" debaucle happened, I stuck around, and CCP gave us the station environment back.
But I think this time, I'm not going to wait. NOBODY asked for these graphics additions, or a good deal of the content that was offered with Odyssey.
From what I remember, after Retribution, I think there were quite a few devblogs about a MUCH needed POS/Structure overhaul coming in the next content update, but instead we got a fancy warp tunnel and a scanner that scans whether you want it to or not.
I've still got some time left on my subs, so I'll be patient and train. Not sure what I'll do beyond that. |

It looks like the 10th patch in the Odyssey series was released today, still no option to disable the animations, or any option for a fade-to-black transition. Really nothing else to say at this point about it, its not like CCP really cares about the players or what they want.
I do find it funny when you raise a concern with something to do with their game, they get awfully defensive. It's almost like they can't handle negative criticism, but I think that's just a European thing...
Anyway, I'm out. No more from me in this thread. Those that posted here, thanks for trying to keep it alive! |

Simply adding the ability to "turn it off" is a cop-out...
Nope, its giving players that are requesting a VERY small feature to be added to compensate for the unwanted gate transition effects. A simple option to fade out - fade in would OPTIMAL. Don't look at giving players options as a cop-out.
That, in itself, is kind of a cop out... Did you guys learn NOTHING from the Incarna debacle?
Look, think about it this way... You could be the one to really get something done here. Instead of making up reasons why you shouldn't give players options, *YOU* could be the hero of the day, the go-to DEV for all our concerns because you're a go-getter and really enjoy receiving our feedback and providing support to a game world we all enjoy to inhabit...
Or, you could just give us more reasons why giving us options would be a cop out...?

CCP Sisyphus wrote:Just a thought - why am I not getting requests to turn off the warp tunnel? It has EXACTLY the same reasoning behind it, and should we ever achieve our dream of multi node handling for a single system, it would probably serve the exact same purpose.
Yes the jump tunnel is sub-par, so we are working on improving it.
The regular warp tunnel is one thing... this animation isn't anything like that.... |
